To really elevate your home, consider cornices! Cornices are decorative molding created to protect your walls. They are different from eaves, because eaves are the underside of an extended roof. Eaves help protect against birds
Cornices are not just at the walls. They also are placed inside of homes as strictly decorative pieces. These decorative pieces sit at the top of some pieces of furniture to create a dramatic effect in your rooms.
With a traditional touch, a cornice will add a heightened sense of elegance to your home. For many people, a cornice is thought of as a date tradition. We are here to let you know that there is distant from the truth. At Larry’s Design Center, we install stunning cornices over window treatments. This helps hide the hardware and your window treatment when it is open. This is important because it means that your window treatment is protected from accidental damage. We have both wooden and fabric cornices for your window covers. These cornices can work well with many of the window treatments that we offer. Some of the best window treatment options are Roman shades, blinds, roller and solar shades, vertical blinds, and woven wood shades. Just like these window treatments, the cornices are customized to fit your window and your window treatment. Meaning, whatever color, design, or style you choose your window treatment we can match it. It also means that if you have particularly large windows you do not have to worry about finding a cornice to match with your window coverings because we can do it all in house for you.
Here a couple of our favorite design combinations. We love to see our wood blinds, and woven woods with a perfectly styled and intricately decorated wood cornices. This is always a gorgeous addition for homes with a neutral color scheme. Or a metal blind with a lovely fabric cornice, which works best in a home that has an industrial style. We also love to see our vertical blinds like the Somner® Vertical blinds with a wood cornice. This is especially beautiful in a home full of luscious green plants and other wood tones.
